Why Jeremy & Liz Donate:
“Through our years of work in education, non-profit and church ministry, Liz and I have seen the devastating effects of unstable housing on families. But we have also been a part of helping families into stable housing and seeing them thrive. A decent, safe, affordable place to live can be life-changing for a family who has only known difficulty and uncertainty with housing, especially those with young kids.
Through our personal journey of “trying to make it” as a young family and then into foster care and adoption, we have seen and experienced the struggle first hand. Trying to juggle a tight budget and having to choose between essentials or paying the mortgage can be overwhelming.
We are thrilled to do our small part by contributing monthly to the mission of Habitat for Humanity Springfield and celebrate with them each time we see a building kick off or a home dedication. That’s one more family that has a firm foundation for success.
Our family chose to make the commitment to become a HomeBuilder together. Our kids are aware of the contribution and sometimes we will drive by the various homes to see the progress and understand that what seems to be such a small investment on our part turns into a big deal for someone else.”
