To ensure financial stability for each home we build, we do not begin work on any home until at least $25,000 has been secured to begin construction and additional funds are assigned as needed for subcontractors and materials. 70% of the labor is provided by volunteers who are directed and assisted by our construction team members. This ensures that the overall home cost will be less than the appraised value of the home. Habitat for Humanity of Springfield, MO is the mortgage lender, allowing payment plans to be customized to ensure that the partner homeowner’s loan to earnings ratio is 20% or less on a 0% mortgage.

Volunteering with your team is a great way to bond, and we want to partner with you to make a tangible difference in the community! Whether you’re looking to go on a construction site to help build a home, assist with customer service, accepting donations, and cleaning the ReStore, or providing a helping hand at a Habitat event, we offer a ton of volunteer opportunities geared toward your interests and skills. Experience in a particular trade is not necessary – we’ll teach you everything you need to know.
From Tool Belts & Bow Ties, to Women Build, and beyond, sponsoring a Habitat for Humanity event is more than a financial contribution; it’s an investment in hope and community. Your support empowers families to break the cycle of poverty, providing them with safe and stable homes. It transforms neighborhoods, fostering a sense of belonging and unity. Sponsorship strengthens partnerships, bringing together businesses, organizations, and individuals with a shared commitment to change lives. Habitat events provide the necessary funding needed to purchase materials and contract services needed to build our homes while also providing an outlet to get more connected and personally engage in fun and meaningful ways.
