In addition to building and renovating homes for its home buying program in Greene County, Habitat for Humanity of Springfield, Missouri, operates an owner-occupied home repair program through staff and contractors. Repairs focus on crucial health, safety and home preservation issues and include repairing/replacing mechanical systems – HVAC, electrical and plumbing; replacing roofs, windows, siding, water lines, sewer lines; foundation repair; modifying bathrooms for accessibility; rebuilding porches and ramps, etc.
We need general contractors to coordinate multi-faceted rehab projects and be paid market rate for doing so. We also need specialized contractors that we can hire for portions of our repair projects such as HVAC, plumbing, etc.
Funding is from grants, and we are not completing projects or spending the funds as quickly as we would like to – we need contractors to bid! This is a great way to get PAID for working with Habitat, preserve communities, and assist low-income residents of Greene County!
There is much work to be done!
If you are a contractor who is licensed and fully insured (including workers’ comp insurance), please contact Kurt Jentzsch, Repairs Manager, at [email protected] for details.
