The Tools for Life homeowner education classes ensure that a wide cross-section of the community can benefit from Habitat for Humanity’s home ownership program. Whether they need a home, are participating in the Habitat home repair program, want to improve their own home or neighborhood, or desire to gain financial stability or quality of life. Everyone is welcome to attend, free of charge.
October Tools for Life Class Schedule
- October 2, 2017: 6:00 p.m. at Woodland Heights Presbyterian Church,(722 West Atlantic Street, Springfield, MO 65803).
- Organizing Your Home: Keri Duke with DeClutter Help Now, will provide tips and tricks on how to get your home organized, inside and out.
- October 16, 2017: 6:00 p.m. at Habitat for Humanity Offices (2410 S. Scenic, Springfield, MO 65807).
- Fire Safety: When was the last time you changed the batteries in your smoke de-tectors? Or for that matter, changed your smoke detectors themselves? With the increase over the past several years in house fires in the Springfield area, it is more important than ever to come and learn about fire safety, from our own Springfield Fire Department.
- October 23, 2017: 6:00 p.m. at Pathways United Methodist Church,(1232 East Dale Street, Springfield, MO 65803).
- Investing for the Future: Come learn why it is important to invest for the future and how to get started from Dan Malachowski, owner of Baron Financial Group, LLC.
- October 26, 2017: 6:00 p.m. at Habitat ReStore (2410 S. Scenic, Springfield, MO 65807).
- Re-purposing with the ReStore: Come watch Missouri State University’s Housing and Interior Design students present an item that they chose from the Restore and repurposed. Hopefully these projects will spark your creativity to save money and recycle by repurposing your own item from the ReStore!
