SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Habitat for humanity of Springfield, MO will host an open house event at our model home in the Legacy Trails neighborhood. Community members are invited to tour the property and to learn more about Habitat’s homeownership program. The open house is scheduled Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at 3791 N. Legacy Ct. in the Legacy Trails neighborhood.
The Habitat for Humanity homeownership programs allows qualified partner homebuyers to purchase their home for the cost of materials and professional services, through a no-profit, zero-interest loan. The low-cost homes are energy efficient, offer homeowners an open floor plan, quality construction, and the choice of exterior colors, flooring, countertops, lighting packages, Whirlpool appliances and more. Each family or individual in the homeownership program is called a partner homebuyer because this is a true partnership, not a hand out.
Partner homebuyers are selected for the homeownership program on three initial criteria; a need for better housing, the ability to pay a monthly mortgage, and a willingness to partner with Habitat for Humanity. Residents in Greene, Christian, or Webster County who are prepared to live where HFHS is building in Greene County are encouraged to apply.
