Home is the Key Month

April 2021 was Habitat for Humanity’s Home is the Key month, presented by ProSource Springfield and in partnership with Price Cutter and Great Southern Bank. The Home is the Key campaign reminds us all of the importance of a home, and draws on the strength and support of you – Habitat’s tremendous community – to build a strong foundation for future Habitat for Humanity homeowners.

April is an important month for Habitat. We started off BIG with our virtual Tool Belts & Bow Ties gala premiering on April 1. From there, we kicked off our Home is the Key campaign with a hot dog cookout (check out our live stream!) at the ReStore and started selling paper keys at the ReStore, ProSource, and local Price Cutters for $1, $5, and $20 donations.

We’re so appreciative of the support that we’ve received from the local government in our efforts to free families from financial instability and provide safe, affordable places to live. On April 1, Greene County Commissioner Bob Dixon joined us at our Tool Belts & Bow Ties virtual gala watch party at ProSource Springfield, where he designated April as Home is the Key Month! Later on in April, Mayor Ken McClure declared April as Affordable Housing Month.

We appreciate Mr. Dixon, the Greene County Commission, Mayor McClure, ProSource Springfield, Price Cutter, and Great Southern Bank for these proclamations partnering with us in our goal to help home owners achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. Every dollar raised during Home is the Key month went directly to support Habitat Springfield’s home buying and home repair programs.
