Over the past year, Habitat Springfield has continued our mission of building and repairing homes, meeting the urgent and long-term needs of our partner families who have been disproportionately affected by this public health crisis.
Highlights Made Possible With Your Support:
Habitat’s Home Buying Program
2 homes built for local families: While COVID-19 limited participation on our construction sites, the hard-work and dedication of our Construction staff and socially distanced volunteers completed two new homes for local families.
Habitat’s Home Repair And Preservation Programs
35 homes repaired, impacting 50 people: Many families around the globe had to spend more time in their homes for work and education during 2020. This meant having a safe, decent place to call home was essential for people to thrive. We repaired or rehabilitated 35 homes this year for people like U.S. Air Force Veteran, Warren. Now, thanks to your support, Warren’s roof no longer leaks.
Tools For Life Classes
Virtual homeowner education classes: During the stay-at-home orders, we transitioned our Tools for Life financial literacy and homeowner education program online offering virtual classes! Future Habitat homeowners were able to complete their program requirements and learn vital skills by adapting to a virtual learning platform.
Volunteer At Habitat For Humanity
3,602 hours of volunteer support: The first wave of COVID-19 meant we had to shut down volunteer opportunities. Thankfully, we adopted critical transmission safety measures and reopened participation in July 2020. There were 3,602 volunteers who joined us, providing 39,984 hours of volunteer support!
Habitat For Humanity ReStore
4,726 donations to the ReStore: Like many Missouri businesses, our ReStore was forced to shutter its doors for 34 days during the stay-at-home order. When we reopened in May, you came out in force to shop and support our mission! Thank you to everyone who donated their new and gently-used goods and products to the ReStore!
