SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Habitat for Humanity of Springfield, MO (HFHS) dedicates $200,000 to complete home repair projects for residents of Woodland Heights, Habitat’s partner in Neighborhood Revitalization. Many types of high priority projects will be considered for repair, such as, but not limited to roof replacement, HVAC replacement, electrical or plumbing upgrades, sewer line replacement or foundation stabilization.
Woodland Height’s homeowners who are interested in applying for assistance can request a home repair application by contacting Nancy Williams, Partner Services Director, at 417-829-4001 x 105. Qualified applicants should have a household gross income at or below 60% of the HUD area median income, hold title to the home, and occupy the home. Applicants who are approved for the home repair program will repay a portion of the repair expenses.
“We’re making a commitment to Woodland Heights to improve the residents quality of life,” said Larry Peterson, executive director of HFHS. “We hope that other organizations will see our commitment to Woodland Heights and join our effort.”
Neighborhood Revitalization is Habitat for Humanity’s newest program that works to improve the quality of life of a single neighborhood by working with area businesses, government, residents, and other nonprofits who share a vision of revitalization. Woodland Height’s focus areas of revitalization include beautification, community, housing, health and safety.
“The HFHS Board is pleased to reinforce our dedication to neighborhood revitalization by making this commitment from our reserve funds,” said Glenn Green, HFHS board president. “This will insure we can continue to positively impact our community especially in our Woodland Heights partner neighborhood.”
