Neighborhood Revitalization
Neighborhood Revitalization
Neighborhood Revitalization (NR) is a collaborative approach to improve the quality of life for all residents in a neighborhood. Focus areas include: health, education, amenities, economic opportunities, transportation, beautification, community, housing, health, and safety. NR is accomplished by creating partnerships with area businesses, government, residents, and other nonprofits who share a vision of revitalization.
While new home construction and home repairs remain at the core of what we do, we cannot transform neighborhoods through construction alone. Through NR, we can make a greater impact within a neighborhood and meet resident goals and aspirations. Ultimately improving the quality of life, for not only residents of these neighborhoods, but for the city as a whole.
NR will improve the lives of families through:
Quality of Life Framework
The quality of life framework maps how multiple elements work together to achieve improved quality of life. It is being integrated into neighborhood revitalization as a tool to help Habitat for Humanity and partners better understand how change happens in a neighborhood.
