At Habitat for Humanity, we are celebrating a very successful Habitat Home Run!
We had close to 250 participants this year! Congratulations to our race winners, Toby Dogwiler won the 5K in 19:10.19, while Ali Rich was the top finisher among the women in the 5K with a personal-best time of 25:23.27. In the 10K, Brian Todd won in 41:07.1, and Trina Wilcox was the top female finisher in the 10K with time of 48:16.70. Johnny Keter and Danita Regehr won the 1-mile walk/run.
Springfield’s Largest Water Balloon fight was a huge success immediately following the run. There were so many water balloons for the battle that our soggy combatants almost ran out of steam before the balloons ran out. Larry Peterson, Habitat’s executive director, was proud to be the starting target for the battle and it was great.
Thank you to all who provided their time, energy and enthusiasm for the day and especially, for many, since it meant getting there before sunrise.
