WELCOME HOME, EMILY!
We always say the best days at Habitat for Humanity are the days spent celebrating with a partner homebuyer. On December 16, 2016, we welcomed Emily into her new home with a home dedication ceremony.
Emily applied to be a Habitat partner homebuyer in January 2016 and was eager to complete her sweat-equity hours. Her home was rehabbed in a quick month and a half to ensure Emily and her family had a home for Christmas.
Before & After: Emily’s New Home
At Habitat for Humanity, we’re fortunate to have wonderful community partners who help in our efforts to help homeowners achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance. There are many times community members donate land or homes for Habitat’s program. To ensure our homeowners are setup for success, our construction crew will rehab properties to make them as energy efficient and maximize the layout for usability.
Emily’s two-bedroom home was rehabbed in one and half months thanks to the generous support of many volunteers. Thanks to their dedicated effort to complete the rehab, Emily was able to celebrate Christmas with her family in her new home.
Sponsor Recognition:
Emily’s home was donated by Charlie and Mary Beth O’Reilly, longtime supporters of Habitat for Humanity. Funds to rehab the property were donated by The Family of Wilber and Violet Caffey, and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines and it’s local member bank, Guaranty Bank.
Special recognition goes to Hogan Land Title for being our partner helping all Habitat for Humanity homebuyers with their home closing.
SThank you to all of our volunteers and community partners who joined Emily in building her new home.
