HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Along with celebrating its 28th anniversary, 2016 will bring some major challenges and opportunities to Habitat for Humanity of Springfield, MO.
As I mentioned last month, our Partner Selection team continues to seek out potential qualified partner Habitathomebuyers. Although we have some terrific partners working their way towards earning the keys to Habitathomeownership, we currently have more homes available then partners in the pipeline. When I tell people that our biggest challenge is finding qualified applicants for the homebuying program it is always met with surprise.
We will begin 2016 with a few more partners in the program which is a great way to start the year! But, it would be nice to be able to tell our friends and supporters that we may actually have to start building more homes. And that’s where anyone reading this report can help.
Please remember that anything you can do to assist Habitat in sharing information about our homebuying program opportunity with others can be extremely helpful. Whether it’s visiting with your company’s employee teams, church groups, civic or social clubs we almost always hear about possible candidates for the program.
So, if you, or an organization with which you are involved, are looking for program topic, please keep Habitat’s Speakers Team in mind. We are more than willing to come and share the mission with your group.
