People in the Ozarks and all over the world partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With our help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.< In honor of National Homeownership Month, we are seeking local businesses and churches to invite us to share about our homeowmership and home repair programs with employees and congregations. Presentations can be made to large groups or individuals. Habitat will provide all necessary materials. Homeownership Program: Habitat partners with individuals based on the need for better housing, a willingness to partner with our homeownership program, and the ability to pay a monthly mortgage. Homeowners complete between 250-350 hours of sweat equity and the Tools for Life homeowner education courses before earning the keys to their new home.
Home Repair Program: Habitat offers a variety of home repair programs from minor landscaping projects and exterior painting, to major renovations and roof replacement. Homeowners pay for materials with an affordable loan and work alongside volunteers to complete the repairs.
