HOMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS 🩵
Three Families. Three Homes. One Community Making It Possible.
This holiday season, three Springfield families have something special to celebrate: a place to call their own.
On Tuesday, November 10, 2026, Habitat for Humanity of Springfield, Missouri, will celebrate the completion of three new homes in our Legacy Trails neighborhood during Homes for the Holidays, a triple home dedication honoring our newest partner homebuyers.
For Suzann Routh, Valorie Nowlin, and a mother of four, this day marks the beginning of a new chapter marked by stability, opportunity, and the joy of homeownership. And we invite you to celebrate with us!

Meet the Families
Every home has a story. And behind each front door is a family looking forward to making memories, celebrating milestones, and building a future.
For Valorie Nowlin, a Springfield preschool teacher and mother of three, the journey toward homeownership included keeping a pretty big secret from her children.
"With Habitat, you have to do certain classes and stuff. And so I told my kids I was doing night classes for months, until finally I told them, we're getting a house."
In a message on her family's gift registry, Valorie shared:
"We will soon own our own home; a dream that wouldn't be possible without Habitat."
For months, her children thought she was simply attending night classes. Now they're looking forward to something they've never had before: bedrooms of their own.
From Empty Fields to Family Homes
Before Habitat Springfield could begin building, the land needed roads, utilities, and other essential infrastructure. Without the financial support to complete that work, these plots might still be empty fields instead of homes for these deserving families.
Through Greene County's Community Impact Program, Habitat Springfield received $455,338 in federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding, which covered most of the infrastructure costs for Phase 3 of Legacy Trails.
The Sunderland Foundation contributed $250,000, the largest private gift to this phase of the development.
Together, these investments provided $705,338 in critical support, helping turn undeveloped land into a neighborhood where families can put down roots.
Today, instead of empty fields, there are homes. Instead of construction plans, there are families preparing to move in. That's something worth celebrating.
Building, Repairing, and Revitalizing Our Community
Homes for the Holidays is one celebration, but it's part of a much bigger story.
Since 1988, Habitat for Humanity of Springfield, Missouri, has constructed or renovated more than 800 homes, helping provide safe, secure, and affordable shelter for well over 1,600 individuals.
Our work doesn't stop with new construction. We also help homeowners make critical repairs, improve existing homes, and strengthen neighborhoods throughout our community.
Whether we're building a new home, repairing a roof, or helping revitalize a neighborhood, the goal remains the same: helping more people have a safe and affordable place to live.
We could not do what we do without our Community Partners. THANK YOU all the sponsors and donors, whether it is financial or in-kind.
When you shop, donate, or volunteer, you help build, repair, and revitalize homes and our community.
