Welcome to Hard Hat Highlights! May 2025
There’s a lot of exciting energy buzzing around Habitat for Humanity of Springfield right now, and I wanted to take a moment to share some of the momentum we’re feeling—especially in the Development Department. From getting our new team members settled in, to celebrating the success of recent events that brought our community together in amazing ways, there’s so much good happening here.
Hard Hat Highlights is our way of keeping you in the loop—not just on builds and events, but on the real stories, small victories, and shared hope that make this work so special. To receive our emails with updates, including Hard Hat Highlights, please click here to sign up.
Whether you’ve been part of our Habitat family for years or just recently joined us, I’m so glad you’re here. We’re building more than houses—we’re building hope, connection, and a stronger community. And we couldn’t do it without you.
Thanks for being part of it.

Hard Hats, Full Hearts: Women Build 2025 Begins
We kicked off this year’s Women Build on April 9 with an incredible group from Arvest Bank—our presenting sponsor. Their energy and commitment helped set the tone for what’s shaping up to be one of our most inspiring builds yet.
Together, we’re building more than just walls and a roof—we’re helping create a fresh start for a single mom, her four kids, and her elderly father. She’s poured hours of sweat equity into the project, balancing work, parenting, and construction with unwavering resolve. This six-bedroom home will be a place where they can breathe a little easier and dream a little bigger—a true reflection of the strength and determination that brought it to life.
Nearly 100 volunteers have already rolled up their sleeves to make it happen, and there’s still time to get involved. Join her as she leads the charge—building not just a house, but a future shaped by strength, vision, and hard work.

Benefit Screening - The Lorax
Celebrate World Environment Day with Habitat for Humanity at a heartwarming family movie night featuring The Lorax.
On Thursday, June 5, bring the whole family to the Alamo Theater for an inspiring evening that blends fun, film, and a powerful message about protecting our planet.
Not only will you enjoy a beloved Dr. Seuss classic, but you'll also be supporting Habitat’s mission—$5 from every ticket goes directly toward building homes and hope in our community. Don’t miss this chance to be entertained, inspired, and make an impact!

Hammer Time Meets Halftime: Gala Scores Big!
We’re still riding high from the success of the 2025 Tool Belts & Bow Ties Tailgating Gala! Held on March 13, the evening was full of energy and heartfelt generosity. With Presenting Sponsor Thompson Sales in the driver’s seat, the event paved the way to homeownership for one local family.
The biggest highlight? We fully funded a new home! Every bid, raffle ticket, and donation helped make this dream a reality. This home will provide the stability and security every family deserves—a place to grow, gather, and thrive for years to come.
It’s a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we come together with purpose.

Cinco de Mayo Fundraiser
We had an amazing time teaming up with Ozarks Tech for a festive Cinco de Mayo fundraiser at the Habitat ReStore! The Event Management group brought the fun—from tasty tacos and nachos by Brockrito to drinks from Shakers and a great crowd of supporters. It was a night full of energy, laughter, and connection, all made possible by a group of students who truly care about giving back. We’re grateful for this growing partnership with Ozarks Tech and everyone who came out to celebrate with us.

Looking for a fun and meaningful way to give back? Join us as we work alongside our neighbors to build stronger, healthier communities!
On June 5–7, we’ll be in the Woodland Heights Neighborhood helping residents with yard cleanup—trimming bushes, clearing one-story gutters, and hauling away debris. Then, on June 26, we’re partnering with United Way’s Day of Caring to spruce up the neighborhood’s alleyways.
There are also ongoing opportunities to swing a hammer at our construction sites or lend a hand at our ReStore. Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or trying it out for the first time, we’d love to have you—and feel free to bring a friend!
Together, we can make a real difference.

Building the Legacy: Progress at Legacy Trails Neighborhood
We’re excited to share the latest updates from Legacy Trails, a vibrant neighborhood that represents years of dedication, hope, and community partnership through Habitat for Humanity. Since breaking ground on phase 3, our construction team and volunteers have been working tirelessly to bring this vision to life—a neighborhood where families can build lasting roots and futures.
Legacy Trails stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, blending thoughtful design with the hard work and heart of everyone involved. This phase of development continues to gain momentum, with several homes rising quickly, each one a symbol of new opportunities and stronger communities. As walls go up and foundations settle, we’re reminded of the legacy we’re building together—one home, one family, and one neighborhood at a time.
