LeRoy’s Habitat Story:
LeRoy and his wife owned a modest home, but were struggling to keep up with bills. Sadly, LeRoy’s wife passed away leaving only one income to cover the mortgage.
“After struggling with the bills and keeping up with maintenance, I couldn’t do it anymore so I moved in with a friend.” – LeRoy, Habitat Homeowner.
After eight years of living with a friend, LeRoy felt it was time to move to a place of his own. “I enjoy cooking and would really like to have my own kitchen.”
After applying for Habitat for Humanity’s Homebuying program and completing the required 250 hours of sweat-equity, LeRoy purchased his home in 2016. He now has a kitchen of his own to cook Christmas dinner.
