What are the Hours of Operation?

  • 8:30am - 5:00pm Monday to Saturday 

What is the Volunteer Schedule?

  • The ReStore volunteer schedule is a case by case basis.
  • We allow full work days of 8:30 - 5:00, as well as half days. There are also possibilities for smaller segments of time (generally used for community service hours).

What are the Age Restrictions?

  • At least 16 years old to be able to volunteer at the ReStore
  • Under 18 not allowed to operate power tools or motor vehicles, work from a height of six feet or more, or work on excavation or demolition projects.

How many volunteers to a group?

  • We allow no more than 15 volunteers to a group.
  • We do this to make sure that everyone has a great volunteer experience and so productivity stays high.

How far in advance can I schedule volunteering?

  • No more than one month ahead of time.
  • We ask for at least 5 days advanced notice for group scheduling.

What should be worn to volunteer?

  • There is limited climate control so watch the weather and plan to dress for the outside weather.
  • Only close toed shoes allowed (NOsandals or flips flops allowed when volunteering).
  • Keep in mind that the clothes worn might get dirty.
  • Clothing appropriate for Habitat's mission (i.e. general public schools dress codes).

What is a typical day's activity at the ReStore?

  • Sales and Customer Service
  • Merchandising
  • Loading and Unloading materials and products
  • Other duties on a day by day basis

What about lunch?

  • Habitat does not provide lunch, but we have eateries within minutes of the ReStore.
  • We also have refrigerators, freezers, and microwaves.

How often am I required to volunteer?

  • Only required to volunteer for the time you have signed up.
  • We enjoy seeing faces more than once in the ReStore.

What if I need to document hours?

  • Check with the organization you are documenting hours for if they have a special time sheet.
  • Keep track of your hours separately from the Habitat Sign-In sheets.

Can we smoke at the Habitat ReStore?

  • NO smoking is allowed while working at the ReStore.
